MiracLens is an empirical-k based lens designing system that does not require a topography machine for the design of the lens. Topography, however, is an excellent monitoring instrument and the use of topography is recommended for all phases of fitting and follow-ups.

MiracLens is not available in diagnostic/inventory fitting sets. Every lens ordered through the VLD is a custom lens made for a particular patient. The lens should be fitted to the patient – not the other way around.

MiracLens can be used as a single-step Ortho-K lens upon the discretion of the dispensing orthokeratologist as there are many variable factors in doing Ortho-K. However, the progressive fitting method of MiracLens is one of the founding principles of the design concept of MiracLens, and there are several key advantages of this fitting method that is indispensable in practicing Ortho-K. All in all, MiracLens believes that the final decision should be up to the individual doctor to determine which method of treatment is in the best interest of his/her patient.

With the MiracLens Orthokeratology System, the patient will have a pair of spare lens (their previous pair) that they can always fall back on. If the patient(s) are in their very early stage of treatment, they can go back to their old prescription glasses or soft lens until replacements arrive.
